Yesterday I got the opportunity to attend the Nike Free Revolution launch. We got to trial the two new Nike Free Shoes out as of yesterday – available for Men and Women! We were all forced out of our comfort zones and guided by Canada’s only Nike Master Trainer Eva Redpath, Nike+ Run Club Head Coach Rejean Chiasson and special guest, Canada Athletic’s Head Coach, Jeff Huntoon.

We were put through not one but two crazy workouts! First up was a speed run based workout while we tried the new Nike Free RN Flyknit.

DYNAMICALLY FLEXIBLE. NATURAL FIT.

More cushioned than the Nike Free RN Motion Flyknit, the Nike Free RN Flyknit Women’s Running features a newly designed midsole pattern that expands, flexes and contracts with your foot with every step. Its sock-like upper provides the incredible fit of Flyknit for total comfort throughout your run.

FLYKNIT ORIGINS
Nike Flyknit technology was inspired by feedback from runners craving a shoe with the snug (and virtually unnoticed) fit of a sock. Nike embarked on a four-year mission with teams of programmers, engineers and designers to create the technology needed to make the knit upper with static properties for structure and durability. Then the precise placement of support, flexibility and breathability—all in one layer—was refined. The result is a featherweight, form-fitting, and virtually seamless upper.

NIKE FREE ORIGINS
After learning that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university’s golf course, three of Nike’s most innovative and creative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless, similar to bare feet. The team spent eight years studying the biomechanics of runners’ feet in motion. The results yielded a profound understanding of the foot’s natural landing angle, pressure and toe position, allowing Nike designers to build an unconventional and flexible running shoe from the inside out.

Next up was an intense circuit style workout as we sweat up a storm in the Nike Free Transform Flyknit. This training shoe delivers the flexible support your workout demands with a woven, sock-like upper and an innovative outsole that expands, flexes and contracts with your foot.

FLEXIBLE, STABLE FOUNDATION
The tri-star outsole pattern expands and contracts in every direction, with your every step, to disperse pressure evenly and enhance flexibility and stability. Rubber pods wrap up the side of the shoe for even more stability and traction.

Needless to say I will be sore for days. I can’t wait to keep putting these shoes to the test in various other workouts and runs. I also love the look of both of them and will be wearing them outside of my sweat sessions as well.
