Team Faze got a very special preview of the brand new Air Max 97 Ultra yesterday!!! To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 97, our run crew was invited to Site 97! It featured a series of artistic installations honouring the OG, the Ultra and the balance of its design. FM founders artists Trevor Wheatley, Dead Dilly, Dahae Song and Nicole Charles brought to life artistic installations inspired by the iconic shoe.
AIRMAX 97 OG
The Airmax 97 saw a major re-release this year and sneaker heads lined up! The Airmax 97 is a Nike running shoe designed by Christian Tresser. It was inspired by Japan’s high-speed Bullet Trains and features a mix of leather, foam, and full-length visible Air.
AIRMAX 97 ULTRA
Complementing the return of the OG is the all-new Nike Air Max 97 Ultra, which reduces the silhouette’s weight, highlights its signature lines in a single-layer upper and introduces new Air-Sole PSI levels to provide a more comfortable ride for daily wear.
“The innovation in the Air Max 97 Ultra comes from the point of view of refined comfort,” says Dylan Raasch, Nike Senior Sportswear Design Director. “We updated the airbag, which is tuned softer, and the foam around it is streamlined to be closer to the ground. The lining is totally seamless with a single shell for the upper construction. The Air Max 97 Ultra retains the spirit of the OG through details you can really feel.”
As you know I love my 90s Nike vibes so I love the shoe! I am so obsessed with this rose gold color way!!! I had the OG’s in highschool and they bring back good memories. The Airmax 97 Ultra launches this week and comes in 8 colorways – HERE
